After biking among the plants, we will head inside to the La Azotea coffee museum to learn about Guatemalan coffee and to sample the different varieties and blends. Here, you will experience the entire process behind making a delicious cup of coffee, from picking the bean to pouring a cup.
After being part of the coffee plantation experience, you will ride to the nearby village of San Felipe de Jesus where you will visit their famous handicrafts market. Here, you can learn all about how the artisan’s make their crafts and, of course, you will also discover the art of traditional Guatemalan candy making .

On the way back to Antigua, we will make a quick stop to try some fermented drinks called “Fresco de Suchiles,” sometimes referred to as the Guatemala Kombucha, among other beverages.
The recipes for fermented drinks, like the recipes for traditional Guatemalan candies, are passed down from generation to generation, and each person who produces them guards their secret recipe with great zeal, so being able to see and be included in the process is an honor.
