CA Cares is the social impact arm of CA Travelers. From the beginning of our journey with local guides, we understood that fair pay was only the first step. The community of San José Calderas faces ongoing challenges, and we have made a long-term commitment—not just to our guides, but to the entire community.
Thanks to the continued trust and support of our travelers, we’ve been able to expand our reach and work hand-in-hand with local families and the community school.
At CA Travelers, we believe education and healthcare are the most powerful tools for sustainable development. That’s why, through CA Cares, we have:
- Provided qualified teachers to help children reach their full potential.
- Awarded high school scholarships to local students.
- Enabled internet access through a Starlink satellite connection.
- Equipped the school kitchen to ensure children receive at least one nutritious meal a day.
- Conducted personal hygiene workshops to promote healthy habits.
- Hosted photography workshops with professionals like David Rojas.
- Received book donations from generous travelers like you.
- Supported improvements to school infrastructure.
- Helped students develop academic and professional skills to prepare them for higher education or the job market.
And this is just the beginning. We believe everyone has a role to play in creating meaningful change—whether by donating books, volunteering time, or sharing knowledge. Every contribution counts. As long as CA Travelers continues operating, CA Cares will remain firmly committed to uplifting the communities we serve. Thank you for being part of this journey. Together, we’re creating real and lasting change.

Who is CA Cares
CA Cares is the social side of CA Travelers. As soon as we started working with local guides, we realized that paying each of them well was not enough. The community of San José Calderas is in need of many different things, and we have committed not only to our guides but to the whole community.
At the beginning, it was not easy, but thanks to all our customers who have believed in us over the years, we have been able to continue working with the community!
At CA Travelers, we believe that the best tools to accomplish social development are education and healthcare, and you will read this phrase a lot in the next updates we share, as we are fully committed to helping the public middle school in this town and then going further. We know that education and healthcare are the keys for this community to improve their quality of life. As long as CA Travelers continues working, CA Cares will be taking care of the communities involved in any tourism activity we perform. Thanks for your support!
