Join one of Guatemala’s most colorful and spiritual traditions: the Sumpango Giant Kite Festival, held every November 1st (All Saints’ Day). Experience Mayan heritage, music, murals, traditional food, and majestic handmade kites reaching up to 16 meters tall, flown in honor of departed loved ones.

From kite-building workshops to cemetery tours and Mayan blessing ceremonies, this is not just a festival — it’s a deeply cultural journey.

  • This is a crowded festival, so no pets allowed.
  • Underage participants must be with an adult at all times.
  • We recommend not carrying valuables; fanny packs are ideal.
  • Parking is extremely limited — use our transport service.
