Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    • 2:00 PMPick-up from hotel/hostel in Antigua
    • 2:20 PMRide to Acatenango (45 mins)
    • 3:00 PMStop at supply center, pack up gear
    • 4:00 PMGroup photo & start the 4×4 ascent
    • 4:20 PMScenic lunch stop (45 min)
    • 5:10 PMArrive at parking lot, 45-min hike to campsite
    • 5:45 PMArrival at camp + hot chocolate reward
    • 7:30 PMDinner & rest or enjoy volcano eruptions
  2. Day 2

    • 4:00 AMHike to the summit (1.5 hours) for sunrise
    • 8:00 AMReturn to camp + breakfast
    • 8:30 AMStart descent hike to 4×4 pick-up
    • 9:45 AMRide to supply center + smoothie
    • 11:15 AMArrival in Antigua (~12:00 PM)

Good to know

  • Altitude sickness is possible — hydrate and pace yourself.
  • Bring 3–4L of water; no refill at the top.
  • Tips: Q50–Q100 for guides is appreciated.
  • Cash only for porters and extras on the mountain.
  • Respect national park rules and campsite equipment.
